In Indiana, Rural 1st has made a lifetime investment of $10,000 to aid the organization, Granted, and the construction of the Granted House of Hope to support rural communities. Granted provides support and resources to families navigating the challenges of a child with a fatal or life-threatening illness across a 100-mile radius around Evansville, Indiana.
Rural 1st‘s support directly impacts the construction of Granted House of Hope, a new campus in Evansville. This facility aims to expand the services offered to families across Southern Indiana, Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois.
The organization is constructing this new campus largely through the donation of land, materials and volunteer labor from local companies and builders. According to Rural 1st Loan Officer and Indiana Local Community Investment Committee Member, Jason Hundall, “this is a testament to powerful community buy-in.”
Serving the Rural Footprint
Rural 1st focuses on the well-being and prosperity of rural America, and the expansive reach of the organization ensures that the investment impacts the lives of those in underserved, rural areas.
"If you look at the map in a 100-mile radius, the vast majority of the surrounding area is rural communities,” Jason said. "This campus will care for the rural communities Rural 1st supports."
The new campus will serve as a hub for families located far from urban centers to access essential services and specialized care. Additionally, financial and vocational assistance, accessibility and practical needs and a dedicated family resource center, will be based here

The Rural 1st Hallway: A Lasting Footprint
The investment secures a lifetime sponsorship, guaranteeing a permanent branded-presence deemed the Rural 1st Hallway. This corridor will lead to the outdoor play area and feature a hand-painted tree mural.
Each child who becomes part of the Granted House of Hope family will receive a personalized porcelain leaf to decorate the tree. According to Jason, this display will serve as a continuous, evolving symbol of the lives touched and the support provided by Rural 1st and the local community.
By investing in Granted House of Hope, Rural 1st is fulfilling its purpose, extending critical care and stability to the rural families who form the backbone of the territory it serves.
